ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN

“The house is a machine for living in.”
― Le Corbusier, Towards a New Architecture

“Form follows function.”

― Louis Sullivan

Architecture is both a product of imagination and calculation. It can meet both worlds of whimsy and reality. It is a practice of both art and science. That is it's beauty.

As a designer, I love simple lines and minimal finishes. However, introduction of textures and color are important to create character in an edifice. One of architecture's major components is space planning. It is where the building holds life and from where movement takes place. I hold to the concept of having functional and efficient, yet interesting, space allocation for any project.

"Less is more only when more is too much."

- Frank Lloyd Wright

ARCHITECTURAL INTERIORS

In any structure, interior space is the most personal and should be treated as such when designing. Interior spaces are special. It is where we move - where we sleep, eat, play, study, work... That is why, in designing interior spaces, it is important to consider the senses - sight, sound, touch, (and yes, sometimes) smell.

Other considerations in designing are functionality of space,  relevance of elements (furniture and fixtures), color, textures and lighting.

EVENT DESIGN

Event design is "temporary" architecture or interior design. Adapting the knowledge from both, helps me to come up with concepts to embellish an event (such as stage plays, commercial booths and displays, themed events and the like). Construction know-how helps me execute the design given a constrained time frame and logistic limitations (because all events do have them!)
